About Studio 7

My name is Amy Ballinger , owner/photographer of Studio7, as well as former owner/operator of Amy's Attic Interiors and Antiques, also in Lawrence ,KS. 

Studio 7 was born from faith, a deep appreciation of all of God's creation and a passion for representing His beauty through photography.  It's my desire to find and capture the inspiration in everything I see and to tell the amazing story in front of my lens...YOUR story, through the fabulous art of photography. I believe whole-heartedly in the motto, "Don't shoot what it looks like, shoot what it feels like" -David Allen Harvey

That's the way I approach each and every photo shoot. I look for the beauty, the creativity, the passion, the personality in every person, every image...and THAT is what I want to capture.

 

I conduct each shoot with genuine joy, enthusiasm and interest and provide unmatched personal attention while maintaining a highly professional demeanor. It is my desire to provide life-long art as I devote my creativity to wedding, engagement, senior portrait and family  photography.  It is my hope that these images will adorn your spaces long after kids have grown and faces have changed...not just portraits but art with soul.

 

I love to capture natural light, play with shadows, incorporate unique surroundings and experiment with different angles, natural movement and self expression. I enjoy mixing modern with old, rustic with industrial to create interest and style. I love what I do and put my heart and soul, experience and creativity into each and every shot. Hopefully you'll agree...it shows!

Amy began her training in photography in 1984, with film and darkroom processing. She went on to the University of Kansas in 1987 where she studied media and journalism, further developed her photography skills as she transferred to digital, and graduated with a degree in broadcast management, promotion and marketing. She lives in Lawrence, KS with her husband of 25 years , 4 children and now, their son-in-law. She offers outdoor, on-location and studio photography and specializes in wedding and engagement, senior pictures and family photography.
